What you should consider and specify when ordering
expanded metal mesh:
Our expanded metal mesh abbreviation
consisting of:
Mesh length l
Mesh width b
Web width c
Web thickness / Material thickness s
Material quality
Please pay particular attention to the
important specifications of:
Expanded metal mesh width (sheet width)
Expanded metal mesh length (sheet length)
where the first dimension always corresponds to the
mesh length l.
When ordering and requesting a price quote, please specify:
- Mesh length
- Mesh width
- Strand width
- Strand thickness
- xpanded metal mesh width
- Expanded metal mesh length
- Number of sheets / Quantity
- Material type / Grade
Our expanded metal mesh is shipped flat-packed, provided the element sizes allow.
This excludes parcel shipping up to a maximum of 31 kg.
We supply expanded metal in the following tolerances:
Standard sheet sizes:
Width tolerance ± 5%
Length tolerance ± 5%
Cutting tolerances in accordance with DIN ISO 2768 (coarse)
Flatness:
The expanded metal is considered flat when placed on a level surface with the curvature facing upwards and the maximum distance between the sheets and this surface does not exceed 50 mm. For heat-resistant sheets, the distance may be 100 mm.
Rawness:
The expanded metal is considered straight along its long edge if:
- for sheet thicknesses up to 3 mm, the apex of the curvature does not deviate from a straight line by more than 1.5% of its length.
- for sheet thicknesses over 3 mm, the deviation from a straight line does not exceed 2% of its length.
Tolerances deviating from DIN ISO 2768 (coarse), as well as for cut types (BLG width, length, closed), are available upon request.
During the stretching process, the material is cut transversely and simultaneously stretched lengthwise. The images show the movement of the upper blade with a rigid lower blade and the associated feed motion of the material being stretched.
